The game comes with multiple different double-sided boards that can be pushed together to form bigger maps so starting out you can choose to either use a single board or two to create your battle map depending on your preferences. There are rules for a 3 player game where one side controls 2 armies and the other two players each are on a team against you….but I wouldn’t recommend that. So, in essence you could battle 2v2 or 4v4 if you have a couple core sets.
